You can't stop the waves, but you can learn how to surf.โ Jon Kabat-Zinn
Let stress flow out.
Let creativity flow in.
Guided art + psychology workshops for teams and individuals.
Slow down, reset, and feel creative again โ through evidence-based psychology and hands-on art-making.

Hi, I'm Chelsea.
I'm the artist and facilitator behind Imperfect flow. Making art got me through some of my hardest seasons, and I wanted to bring that same calm to other people. I firmly believe that everyone is creative and we can help you get unstuck and enjoy life again with evidence-based, simple to use tools, and expressive art making.
I handle everything: materials, setup, and create a warm, judgment-free space where no one has to be โgoodโ at art.
Let the creativity flow. โบ
This is what a class actually looks like.

Journal, breathe, and paint through a structured session designed to leave you calmer than you walked in.

The sciency part to feel better.
Simple, research-backed techniques we learn together โ easy to do, and yours to keep.
The Physiological Sigh
A double inhale and a long exhale to shift the nervous system from agitated to calm โ fast.
- Take a deep, slow breath in through your nose, about halfway full.
- Without exhaling, sip a second short breath in to fully expand your lungs.
- Release a long, slow, sighing exhale through your mouth until empty.
- Repeat 1โ3 times to feel an immediate drop in stress.
Drop the Second Arrow
The first arrow is the hard feeling. The second โ judging yourself for it โ is optional. RAIN is how you set it down.
Journaling It Out
Decades of research link just a few minutes of honest writing to lower stress, a calmer mind, and even better physical health.
- Set a timer for 5โ10 minutes and write by hand, just for yourself.
- Put down how you honestly feel about what's weighing on you โ no editing, spelling, or grammar to worry about.
- Keep the pen moving; if you get stuck, write the same line again until something new comes.
- When the timer ends, take a breath and notice what feels even slightly lighter.
The artsy part to feel better.
You follow a loose direction, then let it go abstract. Your creativity will start flowing soon.
No mistakes โ only happy accidents

Just show up as you are.
Every class comes fully stocked. No art-store run, no setup, no figuring out where to start.
